Lopez Vineyards Grapevine-
The days have gotten so long at the vineyard. Brent and I have finally learned to use the clock not the sun as our warning to end the day at a decent hour. We try to call it by 6-6:30 even though that sun is still high in the sky.
This farm is a beautiful place to be as many of you have noted over the years and not sized out of human scale. Just aging achy bodies warn us of limitations we could once repel.
This year of Covid the spring is long and slow in warming, causing the flowers in our midst to linger longer and bless us with color and aroma, which would be the envy of any Cabernet😊
Covid has allowed us to luxuriate in the beauty of our work and our life. Though not perfect, today, we have our health and for that we are beyond grateful.
We have been following all things Covid, and we are mask wearers. We have been before it was recommended, just to give you a sense of where we stand on this unique moment in our lifetimes.
We have now the third week of Farmer’s Markets on the mainland behind us. We feel we can address how we see ourselves going forward as long as we feel our workers, our customers and ourselves are protected, respected and safe. We appreciate very much all who choose to wear a mask to our booth as we have people in our lives in all categories of concern. Immuno-compromised, health workers and/or old.
If you have visited us at our booth in Edmonds, Lake Forest Park or Everett, you see the small changes we have made to adjust ourselves so that we could, as a business, be there and available to bring a smidgen of what we love about summer.
I myself relish challenges like this for it makes me feel a little more alive, having to think on my feet and finding another opportunity to not take too seriously my perceptions of myself or others.
We for the foreseeable future (which isn’t far) have courageous young women who want to represent us at these markets. It is, whether they know it or not, an act of faith to trust the general public to respect them, what they are doing and how they are doing it. It is for me, one who feels protective of my brood, which includes people I know and love and much of humanity which I don’t know personally, a greater stretch!
I encourage those who still want to imbibe our product but don’t for whatever reason want to attend a somewhat altered Farmer’s Market experience, to pre-order from LIV directly and then pick up at the market. ORDER FOR PICK-UP HERE We will make the exchange as brief as possible.
In Anacortes we are also able to drop off from pre-orders at the Farmer’s Market, but are not hosting a booth there this summer. You can find all of our product at The Store or at Compass Wines which carries a limited selection of our wines. Adrift is also selling our wine by the bottle with their delicious meals for take-out.
We want to thank all of our patrons for your continued support and appreciation of our product. You keep us going for sure!
LIV TASTING ROOM- We are still assessing the situation and making plans on how and when we would open our Tasting Room. Please check back at our website. In the meantime, we are open for curbside pick up using our ORDER FOR PICK-UP FORM. On Saturdays, please see us at the Lopez Farmer’s Market from 10am-2pm for wine sales.
